IS THIS GOD'S HANDWORK? OUTCOME OF RECENT GENERAL ELECTIONS IN RETROSPECT

IS THIS GOD'S HANDWORK? OUTCOME OF RECENT GENERAL ELECTIONS IN RETROSPECT

The General Elections in Nigeria have come and gone. We now have people who have been declared by INEC as winners of the elective positions. Most of us have concluded that by virtue of their winning the election they are 'MESSIAHS' that will liberate us from the numerous problems confronting us as a nation.

As a Christian, I believe that whatever has come to be was allowed by God who is the author of this universe. That these persons have been declared winners does it mean that they were God's choices? Can someone God chooses rig election to come into power? Can't God's 'ANOINTED' succeed in Nigeria without manipulations, use of minors in voting, manipulations by INEC and its Adhoc staff, snatching of ballot boxes, thumb printing of ballot papers by Agents in favour of a candidate, falsification of results, etc? In the movie 'THE NEXT PRESIDENT' which featured Desmond Elliott, Jackie Appiah, etc, you can see what God's anointed means

From what happened at the elections and the spate of violence in some states it is an obvious fact that emergency of these people as 'ELECTED' are not the hand work of God and thus can never be the Messiahs we are expecting. God allowed it to be because we encouraged evil and all manner of vices in the society. We encouraged these evil men and women in all their evil quest for power.

A society that doesn't uphold transparency, rule of law, justice, etc, will always have Leaders who are corrupt and can't perform. A society were the church is more WORLDLY than the world cannot have good leaders. It is the society that helps those who rig elections to do so. It is the society that helps those who embezzle our commonwealth to do so.

Therefore, from what we have seen in the past days, I can confidently say that God allowed these people into offices as a punishment for us. If God wants to save Nigeria, He doesn't need rigging of election, falsification of results, etc to save us. He can effectively do so in his own way.

The summary of this matter is that we need REPENTANCE in our society. We need value orientation. We need to hate evil and uphold good. We need justice. We need to stand firm to condemn evil. The 'PASTORS' who ought to be the mouthpiece of the masses are the worst. We all need change of attitude. Until we show a considerable level of changes, God can't give us the best. Don't celebrate yet. The best is yet to come. God is still waiting on us. I pray that it will not be too long.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT ON THE OUTCOME OF LAST PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

FOOD FOR THOUGHT ON THE OUTCOME OF LAST PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

Nigerians wanted CHANGE and they voted for All Progressive Congress (APC) but are we really ready for CHANGE? It is not just enough to change Government. We should be ready to change; our attitude, our utterances, our manner of doing business, our duties as civil/public servants, to conform to the CHANGE we asked for.

You that voted for CHANGE, are you ready to stop hoarding of goods? Are you ready to stop hiding files until you are pacified? Are you ready to come to work by 9am  and write 9am? Are you ready to maintain queue of first come, first served? If we are not ready to change these and many other vices rampant in Nigeria, then we have not changed anything. It is you and I that will change first for our government to be good.

We should think about this because if changing people in government is the only thing we desire in the CLAMOUR for CHANGE, then we are people to be most pitied. I wish our clamour for CHANGE which was demonstrated during last Presidential election, will translate to CHANGE on our lives, our relationships and our duties towards Nigeria.
